If you can’t speak out reproductive terminology, I don’t think this is the career path for you! Don’t make your nurses do the uncomfortable talking, GROW UP AND JUST SAY IT.Īnyways, I swear this experience felt like an SNL skit or something. It’s a medical term and you can describe a procedure! I didn’t think too much of it at the time but then the nurse came in and brushed it off like, “yeah haha he’s kinda weird about that stuff and asks us to talk about it!” Like WHAT? It’s a medical procedure.

When we started talking about the swab for testing, he told me he’d have the nurses explain it to me because he didn’t seem comfortable talking about how to swab a vagina. I tell him, no that’s fine and we moved on to what I came in for. I’m sorry, but the last thing I want to hear is anything about my reproductive health and COMMUNISM in the same sentence.

He asks very hesitantly if I wanted to test for possible STIs or anything while it’s being sent out and then proceeded to tell me he won’t force me to because, “we aren’t in a full communist country yet”. He comes in to tell me that I might have a different infection and they can do a swab to send out for testing.

Wait a while longer and am finally seen by the doctor. I had a hiccup with a nurse when talking about my VA insurance, she kept asking for my dad or husbands member number and I had to repeat that I was the veteran, not my husband or father so that was weird. I’m greeted by the nurses and assistants- all were very nice for the most part. I drove from Pullman to be seen since we didn’t have any local clinics open at that time of day, I can wait a little.

I get to the clinic and wait an hour- totally fine I get it, there was a lot going on and I didn’t mind waiting. Called back and let them know and they confirmed my appointment. Called the VA, they said no, it’s urgent care and it’s covered since they’re on their list of approved clinics. I verified prior that VA healthcare was accepted but when I called the clinic, I was told I needed prior authorization from the VA. Back in august, I suspected a potential UTI so I made an appointment at this clinic to be seen for it. My experience was weird to say the least. I had a wonderful experience at Indigo and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing medical attention in the Spokane South Hill area. Britts, who attended me, was very friendly and personable and I feel like I got 5 star care. What an happy relief! All my medical records including allergies, medications, etc. Also surprising, I didn’t have to fill out a single form despite it being my first time to the clinic. It was surprising, really, to be treated like an important client instead of just another patient. We are visiting Spokane from Hawaii and although I have never had bad care at home, we have also never been offered a refreshment (water, juice or coffee I believe) in the waiting room of a hospital or urgent care. Todd literally greeted us at the door, holding it open for us as we approached from the sidewalk.
